COMPANY DETAILS:Our client is part of an international group with an annual turnover of GBP 24 Million.The majority of the Group companies are located on the Luton site, where approximately 180 people are employed. Thecompany also have manufacturing facilities in Scotland and USA.The Company specialises in the design and manufacture of large bespoke pumps and electric motors for the power, oil & gasand defence industries.PROFILE:To prepare hydraulic design layouts (pump casings, impellers and diffusers) relating to glandless boiler circulatingpumps, submersible pumps and special projects.To provide initial pump selection data to Sales & Proposals and give support relating to enquiries and new productdevelopment.To provide information (drawings, data sheets, calculations etc.) to our Electrical and Mechanical designers to enabledesign, procurement and manufacture to proceedTo review test results and specify adjustments to meet pump duty requirements.Assist with general office duties regarding technical queries, testing, drawings, bills of materials, non-conformities,etc,EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:A balanced, outgoing personality with good communication skills.At least three years experience relating to centrifugal pump design. Experience of heavy engineering, sub-seadevelopments, pressure vessels and rotating machinery would be an advantageA sufficient knowledge of fluid mechanics, mechanical design, materials and manufacture of pumps to ensure the designsproduced can be successfully incorporated into the Company product range.A knowledge of engineering computing and computer aided design (AutoCAD / Mechanical Desktop and perhaps CFD).REMUNERATION:The Company envisages a commencing up to GBP 35,000, dependent upon experienceAdditionally the Company offers a Contributory Pension PlanDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:An engineering degree.An apprenticeship or recognised postgraduate practical training.Rowe & Co.
