Description:

Key responsibilities will include:-- Technical supervision of design activities- Checking of designs- Staff development/training- Production of programmes- Financial management- Providing technical guidance to clients- Supporting Project Managers at meetings/presentations to clients- Preparation of Technical Reports/Contracts- Preparation of evidence and attendance at Public- Inquiries and exhibitions- Preparation of bids for new workExperience- Design of major trunk roads in the UK- 10 years post graduation experienceKnowledge/Qualifications- Degree in Civil Engineering- Chartered EngineerBehaviours/Competencies- Planning and organisation skills- Problem solving and decision making skills- Good communicator (oral and written)- Teamwork & co-operation- Creativity & innovation- Commercial & business awareness- Leadership skills- Initiative & drive- People management & development- Energy- FlexibilityProfessional Skills- Comprehensive knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges- Good Office skills - especially Excel, Word, Powerpoint- Experience of MX (Moss), ARCADY, WinDes- Experience of UK Statutory procedures is particularly desirable- Technically competent in all aspects of Highways work- Experience of Design & Build contracts- Previous experience in a Leadership roleCircumstances- Driving Licence would be desirable- Prepared to visit to sites and attend meetings in other parts of the UK- Ability to be flexible and deal with busy workloads when requiredSalary would be dependant on experience.
