Based in South West Manchester, our client is a software house providing applications for Local Government. They are seeking a Help Desk Manager with solid skills and understanding of Microsoft operational environments (2000 XP), SQL Server, Networking (TCP/IP etc), XML Web Services. You must have a minimum of 3 years experience working as a manager in a helpdesk / support environment. Financial application and Local Government experience would be a distinct advantage. There may be some occasional travel involved so a full UK driving licence is essential. You will be responsible for delivering a quality support service to customers and consultants for our clients income management solution used primarily by the public sector in Local Government and Universities. The bespoke software solution includes the following applications: cash receipting, e-payments, automated bank reconciliation, interfaces to 3rd party systems. You will be responsible for managing the customers, the Helpdesk and the support team. The types of problems logged on the helpdesk are of both a technical and a business nature. The job consists of the following activities and skills: Management (customer, customer expectations, 3rd parties, support team retain, develop, motivate. Business: understanding the business, advising the customer, identifying revenue earning opportunities. Application skills: Understanding the application, Consultancy, Configuration, Installation. |
