AIRCOM is a privatelyheld business under the control of UK founders and key management.Role DescriptionThe main role of the individual is to provide consulting services to network operators and vendors on a variety ofhandset validation projects worldwide.The consultant will have a solid theoretical practical knowledge of handset validation procedures. The individual will beable to work effectively and efficiently in direct facing solutions according to specified technical guidelines.Specific Requirements Ordinarily possess relevant degree and / or post graduate qualifications with 2-5 yrs relevant industry experience Proficient grasp of cellular network architectures & operational theory, telecoms principles, cellular wirelesstechnologies. Capable of making strong contribution, evaluation and analysis within an operators or vendors handset validationdepartment. Experience of some or all of following mobile systems: GSM, GPRS, UMTS, CDMA, WCDMA. Previous 3G handset testing experience, knowledge of UMTS environments, Protocols, Radio Interface & NetworkArchitecture is desired. Knowledge of one of main equipment vendors (NOKIA, Ericsson, Lucent, Motorola, etc)Ideally: IOT (interoperability testing) experienceSoft Skills Independent worker Team worker Initiative Flexible Good Communication Skills Willing to travel Good interpersonal and presentation skills (written and verbal), Report Writing Project Planning Progress ReportingResponsibilities & Duties Responsibility of the project flow for the entire handset assessment phase including pre-acceptance, productreadiness, acceptance, system testing Definition of product requirements for development of new handsets Verification of 3GPP specification compliance for handsets Definition of radio requirements for new products in order to grant the interoperability of new mobiles with theradio features implemented Proposal of technical solutions to UE vendors Investigation of issues arising in the applications (Browser, Java, E-Mail, Memory, Synchronization, Streaming,Content Security, USIM, MMS / SMS, SyncML, Video calls / Multimedia,) Designing proper test lists Test execution Problem solving / Defect management
