GRS&T DCT is recognised as one of the leading IT functions in the UK.Role DescriptionThe primary role of the GRS&T Sourcing Strategy Director is to set up and run an offshore CoE (Centre of Excellence) forGRS&T. Given the existing offshoring activities within GRST DCT, the CoE would look to engage with the community ofproject and programme managers and to assist their offshoring activities by facilitation of a number of activities whichadd value by being done centrally, while leaving delivery responsibility for projects within the business line DCTgroups.ResponsiblitiesDefine the framework by which Functions, Applications, Projects or Roles are identified as suitable to a remote sourcingmodelEstablish standards and processes relevant to offshoring, working with existing standard and process improvementinitiativesEstablish appropriate training programs, working with HR and the Digital AcademyDevelop (in conjunction with IP6S) the medium-long term offshoring strategy applicable to the demands of GRS&TEstablish cultural communication programs, working with HREvaluate and select vendors (in conjunction with IP6S)Develop metrics for evaluating the success of offshore relationshipsMonitor vendor performance, ROIMonitor vendor usage across GRS&T to ensure appropriate balance of vendor engagementsDevelop standard service-level agreements (SLAs) and contractsSet pricing with the vendors (in conjunction with IP6S).Act as an intermediary between individual project teams and the vendorCraft/manage communications for internal staff and external customers and shareholdersWork to ensure that individual groups are successful in their offshore outsourcing effortsMaintain best practice databasesSkills / Experience / KnowledgeThe Sourcing Strategy Director (Sourcing Strategy Director) should have the following characteristics:Enough seniority to be well respected by senior IT and business executivesManagement backgroundSignificant Offshore Vendor management experienceProgram, project and relationship management experienceSubstantial Offshore outsourcing experienceStrong Communication skills written and oralContract negotiation experienceOrganizational skills
