If you see your strengths in a strategic, lead advisory and business consultancy capacity, this could be the ideal opportunity for you. Our client, one of the Top 5 Accountancy Firms, has identified a substantial need to offer a Management Consultancy Service and as such are setting up a new Growth and Strategic Services department. To propel this new service line forward, they are looking to recruit an experienced, qualified Accountant with an overall strategic vision rather than specialist focus.With the ultimate aim of advising and building long-term relationships with a mixed client base in order to deliver value from start up to exit; key responsibilities include succession planning, funding solutions, business planning and financial modelling and providing board level input to all aspects of the business. You should also be willing to actively engage in client businesses as and when required as opposed to acting in a pure consultancy capacity. This is a vital and senior role within the department where you will also manage projects internally including billing and working capital management, reviewing assignments particularly with relevance to budgeting and cost overruns and delivering new business to the office. MBA, ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, ability to see the broad picture and strong business development skills. Personal attributes which will help the individual succeed within this position are motivation, intellect, excellent judgement, resilience, client relationship and selling. You should have to have a commercial rather than a pure financial approach and will have the necessary skills to help clients develop their business strategy in a one-to-one or group workshop format. The successful candidate could well be moving from a commercial role in industry or have been in a prior consulting position. Any Corporate Finance/ Transaction Services or investigations experience will prove beneficial in this role but more important are the personality attributes to deliver a value-added and credible service to a wide variety of clients.
