Idealpeople have been instructed by this awe-inspiring listed technology company to find Engineers of exceptionalacademic ability who want to make their mark with an organisation delivering commercial speech recognition, imageprocessing, text recognition and holistic data management products to their blue-chip customer base.You will be involved in R&D activity, analysis and debugging of more senior engineers code, and some clean sheet designwork. There are options for customer facing work, travel and product management in the longer term.Academic CriteriaYou must have a first Degree from a top 20 University, ideally a 2.i or a 1st. Relevant PHD very desirable.Technical skillsThe core skills we are looking for is C or C++ or VC++ over Windows (C or C++ on UNIX IS NOT OF INTEREST FOR THESEPOSTS). Please note that in-depth experience in Windows development is essential. Perl skills would be an idealcomplement to this.Ideally this will have been gained in a Speech Recognition, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition or Data'Routines'/'Resources' environment in a University Research lab or a commercial company. 3 months commercial experienceminimum.Really nice to have skills include:Direct product or research experience with HTKTrigram Language ModellingOther nice to have skills:Memory efficiencyOptimisation of OS/Kernel routines in WindowsModel building from large amounts of dataSpeechworks or Scansoft (Although are doing end-to-end development without 3rd party plug-ins)Debugging and Analysis of code rather than straight developmentResearch/Lab backgroundThese role carry salary guidance between GBP 25-GBP 30,000 and are based in Cambridge.
