: This is a great chance to join a very successful and well respected retailer as a Graduate Assistant Buyer. The main purpose of this role is to support the Buyer in managing specified suppliers in order to meet financial objectives and customer needs. Your key responsibilties will fall into four main categories: i) Relationship Management - Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, customers and colleagues ii) Support for Buyer - Cover the Buyer's duties as and when necessary - Communicate all department decisions to internal and external contacts - Research and analyse relevant product information iii) Supplier - Assist Buyer in identifying and actioning product returns to suppliers - Support buyer in supplier trading relationships as required iv) Customer - Assist in managing key customers - Analyse customer range performance - Implement customer promotions and provide performance analysis This is a role that will require strong interpersonal, communication and decision making skills along with the ability to work to deadlines. You will also need to be good at analysing and working with figures. The ideal candidate for this position will be a recent graduate with some commercial experience or experience in buying. You will preferably have a business or marketing related degree with strong A Level grades. This position will offer excellent training and real potential for career development so it is essential you are an ambitious individual.
