G2 ENGINEEREssential Skills for this role consist of the following :1 G2 Platform Application Development2 Use of Gensym interface technologies such as GSI and ActiveX Link3 Experience of Gensym database bridge development.Desirable Skills1 C++2 COM/COM3 OracleThe system is to support incident management, device control including Variable Message Signs and Matrix Speed Signals,and CCTV. The system will involve GIS/mapping functionality and it will have the ability to integrate a number ofexisting disparate systems to provide an integrated desktop system that will support multiple operator positions.Flexibility is a key requirement of the system design to cater for future expansion.The role will involve enhancement/development of an existing G2 platform application to meet new system requirements. Akey aim of the system development is to re-use existing software components and therefore knowledge of COM, DCOM and C++would be desirable along with a working knowledge of Oracle databases.Knowledge of transport control systems would be an advantage.
