: Our client, an international speciality chemical company, are searching for two food technologists/scientists to join the team. The role is based in Ayrshire in Scotland. 1. Duty or Responsibility - 60% of Time What: Promote the products and support the sales force to enable increased sales through innovative technical solutions targeted at both our customer needs and profitable solutions for our clients capabilities in the food segment. How: Provide technical recommendations (formulation and process recommendations) to solve customer-specific product issues. Requires strong knowledge of food chemistry, ingredient functionality processes and inner personnel skill. Must be able to probe the customer's specific application - product characteristics, performance parameters, process, and any restrictions on labelling, ingredients, and cost - and make appropriate suggestions. Requests may come directly from customers, or through Sales or Marketing staff. Inquires come direct, via telephone, fax, e-mail or by indirect contact with customer. Make customer calls with and without the sales representatives to instill customer confidence in the companies presence in the industry and technical capabilities. Bring the sales force up to speed on the products and new product blends by providing training, travelling with them, and creating practical, quick-reference literature for internal use as new products are developed and added to the existing portfolio. Promote the products by giving customer and trade show seminars (includes lab preparation of demos) Manage provision of finished product samples and prototypes for customers and Sales. Samples provided to customers demonstrate specific ingredient functionality, as well as ISP's formulation and process knowledge. Finished samples provided to Sales facilitate the 'opening of doors' for discussion with potential customers. 2. Duty or Responsibility - 20% of Time What: Solve customer problems/concerns. How: Call on customers in person or via telephone to effectively identify and resolve customer problems/concerns. Work on laboratory projects to solve customer problems in order to secure existing business, or develop new business. 3. Duty or Responsibility - 20% of Time What: Work on special projects.
