Description:

Your role will involve pre-staging, Installation, Commissioning, Support & Maintenance of Marconi, Ciena, Huawei & Ciscoequipment.Responsibilities and duties- Solution pre-staging in a lab environment.- Cabling out, equipment installation & commissioning on customer and Our Client's premises.- Ongoing preventative network maintenance tasks.- Fault response, diagnosis and rectification.- Assisting with production of customer and internal documentation sets.- Adherence and development of BMS processes- Training and development of other Field Support engineers.Additional informationOur Client operates a call-out rota, to provide maintenance cover for customers requiring out of normal hours cover. Thesuccessful applicant will be expected to participate in the call out rota (typically one week in 4/5) once they havereached the correct skill and awareness level. This is normally around 8 -12 weeks after start date.As the role is field based the successful applicant should be prepared to travel extensively within the UK on a regularbasis. As a rough guide our engineers regularly achieve 40-50k miles per annum.Attendance at customer & internal meetings is required from time to time.Qualifications, skills and experience:- Minimum of five years experience in a telecommunications support/installation environment, at least two of which musthave been in an IPVPN and/or Metro Optical environment.- Educated to minimum of O' level standard or equivalent.- Good communication skills both verbal and written.- Good demonstrable theoretical, practical & hands-on knowledge and experience of at least one of the followingManufacturer Equipments/Technologies: Marconi SDH & DWDM, Ciena DWDM, Huawei IP & DWDM, Cisco IP, DWDM & SDH.- Cisco CCNA accreditation essential, CCNP desirable, any further Cisco or other manufacturer accreditationsadvantageous.- Electrical qualifications/experience advantageous.To take advantage of this opportunity simply apply via the button shown.
