Description:

On their behalf we are looking for a modern and lean approach to this function where problems are analysed via routecourse; implementing Total Preventative Maintenance Systems.~A Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is desirable, with a minimum of 2/3 years managerial experience.~Maintenance/Engineering team with a background in a foundry or heavy engineering/manufacturing/process industry -steelmaking or processing - paper, board etc.~Manufacture - volume production environment.~Management of plant with high hydraulics, pneumatics input.~Experience of introducing/implementing/managing Planned Preventative Maintenance Systems.~Experience of PLC controlled plants.1. To create a healthy and safe working environment through:-- the development of safe working practices- compliance with ISO14001 accreditation- adherence to all legal obligations with regard to plant, services and building.2. To maximise utilisation of internal and external maintenance resources within the agreed budget:-- maintenance employees- external contractors on and off site.3. To maximise the performance of the plant through the development and implementation of monitoring and preventativemaintenance systems.4. To improve plant productivity by identifying and implementing engineering improvements to plant and process. Recommenddesign changes in new or existing equipment to improve plant performance by reduction in maintenance costs, improvedavailability, higher rates of work or reduced waste levels.5. To direct, lead and motivate maintenance personnel so that maintenance and production objectives can be consistentlyachieved. The ability to identify individual & team training requirements in order to develop expertise in the effectiveand efficient running and continuous improvement of all plant and equipment.6. To forecast and develop maintenance budgets.7. Put in place the necessary plans and control systems so that engineering management and staff have clearly definedobjectives.
