Our client is multi-site market leading manufacturer and supplier of head-up, head-down, and helmet displays; flightcontrols; and associated subsystems across both the civil and military aviation sectors. As part of their growth plansthey now seek to recruit a seasoned Engineering Director. The Engineering Director will develop and deploy multifunctional engineering teams, operate benchmark tools and processes to ensure the delivery of effective solutions tocost, schedule and specification within the UKThe successful candidate will specifically; Lead the engineering team of circa 800 people responsible for delivering the engineering solution for each projectmeeting the customer and contract requirements in terms of schedule, cost and quality Manage delivery of the engineering solutions for each project within the context of strategic business direction Actively participate in programme performance reviews to identify emerging product development issues and facilitatecorrective actions Contribute to the development of strategy and long term business plans for the Systems Business Area Ensure the appropriate development, capability and competence of the engineering resources and recruit new engineeringtalent with key skills as required to implement strategy on long term business plans Provide responsive and innovative engineering solutions with supporting development plans as part of the businesswinning activity Drive for more efficient and effective processes and execution to reduce the cost of product development and supportthe business in meeting its overall financial objectivesRequirements Ideally you will have proven leadership skills within a large multi-site company A minimum of 5-6 years Programme Execution and Engineering Management Experience The ideal candidate will be degree educated, possessing excellent engineering skillsThis is an excellent opportunity to develop within a highly receptive organisation.
