Description:

: Engineering Designer to work on the development of innovative healthcare devices from concept to prototype manufacture. You will be a graduate with a high level of practical experience; 2+ years in an engineering design environment; and understand high volume manufacture and assembly processes, preferably in the healthcare industry. You must have significant experience in 3D Cad, preferably ProE and Solid Works, and experience in mechanism design, stress analysis and CAD analysis is useful. The group undertakes development projects in the three focus areas of: medical diagnostics and instrumentation, surgical products and medical systems, and drug delivery devices. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team engaged in one or more projects and be responsible for carrying out specific tasks to agreed timescales and budget. These may include: working with engineers to develop system requirements including liaison across other engineering disciplines; generation of concepts in CAD; layout of systems in CAD; and production of detailed drawings and manufacturing specifications. You may be involved in analysis of system elements using mechanism design tools and will be working closely with engineers and technicians to implement designs; and writing technical reports and producing high quality design documentation. Salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications but is likely to be in the range GBP 22-26K. There is a profit share and other benefits.
