Job SpecificationThe role will involve leading a team of software engineers writing C (primarily) for a real-time, multi-process, embeddedapplication for the broadcast industry, running on a Linux platform.The successful candidate will have a good appreciation of good software engineering practices and of the requirements ofwriting real-time, multi-process applications. He/she should be able to embrace a complex software architecture anddevelop it to a standard that enables efficient maintenance and extension by his/her team. Also essential is experienceof the requirements needed to successfully bring products to the market-place including an understanding of theimportance of reliability, testing, production and support.Experience of the broadcast industry including video and audio mixing and the rendering of text and 2D and 3D graphics,C++, development of embedded systems, developing on or for a Linux/UNIX platform, open-source software packages,real-time programming and networking would all be beneficial.Candidate ProfileThe successful candidate will have at least 10 years professional software experience and at least 5 years teamleadership experience.The applicant should be educated to degree level or equivalent, typically in Computer Science.He or she must also be: Enthusiastic Personable Self Motivated Thorough
