About the roleDetails of the PostPurpose:To ensure that all equipment and facilities operate effectively and meets the need of staff working in specialist areaswhen required. The jobholder will be responsible for the maintenance of all electrical aspect within the organisation.The jobholder will be competent to work on Low voltage (< 440V AC) circuits and plant and equipment, also and maintenanceof electrical plant and equipment.Duties will include:All wiring to comply with IEE Regulations 16th Edition.Knowledge and experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) such as ADT, Trend & Sauter systems.Ensure that all power fails are managed effectively and that the backup generators and UPS performed as designed tosupport the work of the Organisation.Undertakes PAT testing in a timely manner (<24 hrs) of receipt of new equipment and annual retest as required.Undertake calibration of temperature transducers and ensure alarms are active at all times.Ensures all alarms are rectified as soon as possible and that the area supervisor is kept fully informed of the problemsand timescales to a solution.Out of hours site responsibility:24/7 on call for all Organisation electrical / mechanical equipment.Part of the Organisation on call rota.Covers all site mechanical faults.The above list is not exhaustive, the job holder may be asked to perform other duties not listed that he / she iscompetent to undertake.Blue Arrow is a Recruitment Agency.Who we're looking forCandidate requirements:The jobholder will have served a recognised apprenticeship and qualified to C&G as a minimum together with mathematics O'level or equivalent and approx. 5 years' experience. Good knowledge of the IEE regulations 16th Edition.Good working knowledge of quality systems requirements.The job holder will be PC literate and familiar with Microsoft suite of programs.Good Appreciation of Building Management Systems (BMS) together with PLC logic and electronics awareness.Good appreciation of Trend, mechanical & electrical systems and their control, eg pneumatics, PLC, feedback systems,pumps, fans, motors and inverters.Appreciation of CAT 4 & CAT 3 laboratory requirementsHave, or willing to have, the relevant immunisation to enable entry into CAT 4 & CAT 3 laboratories.The jobholder will be competent to work on Low voltage (< 440V AC) circuits and plant and equipment, also and maintenanceof electrical plant and equipment.About the employerOur client is in the pharmaceutical industry.Salary, benefits and training25 days holiday, pension scheme.Location: Potters BarStart date: 15/12/2005
