An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a major blue chip company in the PowerTransmission & Distribution Industry.Successful Candidates will come from a High Voltage background (33kv and above, 11kv min)and be familiar with substationdesign work.Key Responsibilities and duties:The candidate will be capable of acting as Design Team Leader when required, ensuringco-ordination of design across disciplines. Duties will include the design, checking and approval of control andprotection schemes in accordance with established standards, The production and adherence to detailed project plansensuring project on time delivery. Working in line with ISO 9001 , TPS, NGTs, ESI , BS , RT and IEC standards.Tender SupportProvide technical support in scope clarification and answering technical questionsDevelop work breakdown structures for project plans, technical specifications, SLD’s and time estimates.Project Delivery ( Preparation of documentation including )Design Intent DocumentEngineering work breakdown structures and time estimatesTechnical Specification of Plant items and Protection & Control EquipmentSchematic Diagrams, General ArrangementsDesign review minutes.Protection settings, Battery / LVAC sizing, cable sizing calculationsWiring Diagram , Cable Schedules and core sheet approvalsExisting drawing modifications , interface schedules and design risk registerDesign of AC/DC Distribution and InterconnectionsSpecification of CT’s and VT’s, in terms of electrical characteristics and physical dimensionsManufacturing Instructions for Cubicles, Kiosks & Wallboxes, Relay Cubicle Steelwork DesignDesign & Provision of Multicore CablingProject material equipment schedulesElectrical & Mechanical interlocking designProvide support in the production of Site installation & Commissioning InstructionsQualifications:The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and committed providing high quality support, working closely within a teamof dedicated professionals. The ability to communicate at all levels both to clients and within the organisation isessential to this role. The candidate will be capable of working to tight project time scales, work comfortably underpressure and have an honest and loyal approach.The successful candidate will have a minimum qualification of HNC/HND in electrical engineering or equivalent.
