My client is a group of specialist companies leading the world in the design and manufacture of high specification Electrical Interconnect Systems,Fluid Transfer Systems, and High Current Contact Bands and Connectors for a wide range of markets and applications which include Aerospace,Defence, and specialised Industrial Applications in hazardous and safety critical environments. The companys UK operations employ some 130 people and worldwide sales of GBP 15 millionTHE JOBDevelopment/Project Engineer.Based at the companies premises in Slough the main duties and responsibilities are set out as below:Carry out and manage work on the development of new products with increasing responsibility for project management and technical leadership. 1. To work on new product design from conception of requirement to commercial launch of product.2. To manage some multiple projects with supervision from the Development Manager.3. To share technical leadership on these projects with the Development Manager.4. To work closely with the Business Unit Manager, Key Account Managers, customers and other sales staff to understand the customers requirements and to fulfil them.5. To work closely and manage (in conjunction with Purchasing) Icores suppliers of tooling, raw materials and services to meet the requirements for new product development.6. To develop and add to Icores expertise in key technical fields.Applications are sought from candidates with the following skills and experience: 1.Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical or engineering subject. 2. Experience of leading development projects to a successful conclusion within the specified time, technical and cost constraints3. Experience of using CAD systems.( Pro-Engineer)4. Strong IT skills Note; Development Engineers are fully involved in all aspects of development projects from their definition to the selling of products. They will be expected to take responsibility for the engineering context of the project. The Development Engineer is expected to receive guidance on project selection, commercial tactics and project management, and to gain skills in these areas. REMUNERATIONBasic salary (up to GBP 32k) depending on experience, profit share scheme,five weeks holiday,company pension,life assurance (8x salary) and career progression are on offer. . Hours of Work - Monday Thursday 8.30am-5.00pm, Friday 8.30-1.15 |
