Vacancy:Detail Design EngineerStatus:PermanentRef:650196Area:BerkshireDisciplineEngineering DesignResponsible for the supply of a mechanical / production engineering design and draughting service.ResponsibilitiesThe provision of any calculations and analysis in support of the given accountabilities.Maintenance of design history.Support technical reviews when necessary.To ensure responsibilities are understood andapplied with regard to the company's Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality standards.To safeguard Companyinfomation and assets from unauthorised access or disclosure, reporting security breaches and apply security at alltimes.QualificationsCompletion of an engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent HM Forces training) plus HNC/HND or equivalent in mechanicalengineering.KnowledgePrevious knowledge of 3D CAD techniques is desirable and of precision manufacturing is also preferred.A good knowledge ofProduct Definition (Drawing) Standards.UK Health and Safety Legislation.Quality Standards and Procedures.ConfigurationManagement.Knowledge of MS office applications Word, Excel etc.ExperienceSufficient and appropriate post apprenticeship experience in a Design Office environment with a demonstrable ability toproduce design layouts and detail / manufacturing drawings.SkillsGood interpersonal skills and an ability to interact at all levels.The ability to use a variety of Computer Softwarepackages including the use of 3D CAD Systems, preferably Unigraphics.Application of product design standards.BehavioursAbility to work effectively with coleagues towards the common goals of the team.Self-motivated and proactive in achievingresults against set targets.Oral and written communication skills, able to exchange information clearly and concisely atall levels.Key accountabilitiesThe production of design layouts and detailed / manufacturing drawing packages for engineering projects to meet thetechnical requirements of the Design Authority, ensuring that the appropriate design procedures and company standards arecomplied with.
