: My client are now looking to recruit a DESKTOP SUPPORT ENGINEER. The Desktop Support Engineer is the primary point of contact for all IT issues that are raised by the user community. The post holder is required to project a positive and professional image to all users. The engineer is also expected to take ownership of user issues with regards to hardware and software, the post holder should be proactive when dealing with the user community. Prospective candidates must be customer focused and be of a friendly, polite demeanour at all times. There are many IT projects and candidates must be prepared to respond to the requirement to assist in the planning, implementation and support of these projects where necessary. The post holder should be ready to respond to calls from the user community and provide technical assistance via the phone, mail, remote desktop or in person. It is essential the post holder communicates any outstanding user issues with their team members and line manager on a regular basis. Good communications skills are essential. A good telephone manner is essential in order to explain resolutions to IT issues clearly and concisely. A good knowledge of helpdesk procedures is an advantage. A sound knowledge of key Office applications and operating system activities such as builds and packaging concepts, MSI technology is essential. Scripting experience is desirable. A background in troubleshooting IT issues and 3 years IT experience to an A+ level is required. The post holder should also be a team player For more info please contact Marion
