No other independant Company can offer such a wide choice of solutions; ranging from hydropneumatic systems to hydraulicrotary dampers.What ever suspension requirement, our client will be able to provide a proven suspension solution to meet their customerrequirements.Reporting to the Technical Director this person will be responsible for the Production Design Function to take successfulprogramme or project design concepts and proposals through detail design and analysis stages to produce viable, verifiedprototype and production designs and their subsequent through life support and modifications.The company has 9 current programmes, 7 strategically important new business opportunities, 15 other important potentialprogrammes and 7 identified PV development programmes.The need to strengthen and enhance the Design Engineering resource is clearly apparent, not only to accommodate theexpected increase in workload and rigour, but also to allow the Technical Director to fully play a vital role in securingcertain of the international strategic programmes.The person holding this position will, therefore, be expected to accept a high degree of responsibility and contributetheir product design and management experience immediately.The existing production design team of 4 persons, including the current Engineering Manager, will report to thisposition. The position also carries a degree of responsibility for an Electronics Engineer within the Operations functionof the business.In addition to managing the above team the person will be expected to work closely with 5 engineering other personnel, 2conceptual design engineers and 3 development engineers. The lead Conceptual Design Engineer and lead DevelopmentEngineer, together with this person and the Technical Director, will form the core management of the engineeringfunction. Strengthen the production design team by virtue of their knowledge and experience so as to generate robust producibledesigns, incorporating third party special and proprietary products and which fully meet the functional, reliability andcost requirements of the programmes. To ensure that an appropriately high standard of component detail and process design is achieved and incorporated andmaintained by enforcement of robust design, verification and validation processes. To contribute to the improvement in overall professionalism and innovation within the engineering function. Management of production design function to take concepts/proposals through detail and analysis stages to produceviable, verified prototype and production designs.Essential Job Functions Management of design staff Planning and execution of design process Liaison with Commercial and Concept/Proposal Engineers on Detailed Performance and Design for Manufacture Liaison with Operations, Planning, Purchasing and Quality on Design for Manufacture and QA issues Verification of Design and Analysis Administration of Design Reviews Configuration Control Issue of Technical Data Pack Design Input into Product Performance and Reliability and Life issues Deputise for Technical DirectorRequirements Engineering Degree Experience of Detail Design for Manufacture, Development, Project Management and Configuration Control Pro-Active and Goal Orientated Flexible Good Communicator and Coach Minimum 10 yrs Directly Relevant Experience Previous Successful Broader Management ExperienceOther Skills/Abilities Computer Literate Thorough understanding of current QA and Manufacturing Business Processes
