COMPILER ENGINEER FOR PORTING/ ENHANCMENT OF CODE/ COMPILER GENERATIONCompiler Engineer required for Programming Tools and Models Team to enhance compiler/code generation technologies. Experience of commercial toolchain development, working for semiconductor/software tools vendor including significant involvement in porting/enhancement of compiler/linker assembler tools for a commercially available processor and several years industrial experience including processor toolchain development, compiler porting, porting tools such as assemblers, linkers/tuning tools to application requirements. Knowledge/experience of: CPU architecture (pipeline effects, cache behaviour, interrupt mechanisms, bootstrap mechanisms); Porting/enhancing GNU C compiler tools (gcc)/GNU binutils (gas, ld, BFD) to new processor targets; Advanced register allocation/code scheduling techniques; Code generation techniques for non-C source languages (e.g using MATLAB to generate assembly language or C); Code analysis/tuning (examining compiled and/or hand written assembly language statically or using pipeline simulator output); Determining optimizations/improvements. Working with applications groups to assist in these activities; GNU newlib porting experience. Optimization of similar runtime libraries (for codesize/datasize etc); Embedded RTOS porting/writing drivers, e.g eCOS/Nucleus/pSOS/VxWorks.
