Key Results: The Building/Quantity Surveyor/ Project Manager will be directly responsible to the Director/Commission Manager for all matters relating to professional standards and technical policy to an approved standard within financial resources. The post holder will work within a professional team on a long term Facilities Management/Property Commission within the Public Sector.The post holder will be accountable to a Client Manager for the co-ordination, administration, procurement, management (of contractors) for Projects (M&E, Building) minor/major projects for public sector clients. The post holder will be part of a Projects team, but also work in conjunction/for the Facilities Management operations team. Core Responsibilities: Co-ordinate the following services:- To undertake building surveys, undertake feasibility reports. To undertake small/medium concept design options/solutions. Procure contracts (tender documentation), issue tender evaluation reports and supervise works as necessary. External Architects will be appointed on major projects. Attend monthly Client Project Meetings Control and monitor contract programmes. Shall partake in preparing annually a schedule of work for the ensuing financial year. Update building asset registers and building maintenance files. Monitor the commitment and expenditure of specific funds to ensure expenditure is contained within the budget allocations. Assist the Facilities Management team when required in the day to day and long term management of services. Compliance with QA, Health and Safety procedures. Provide an ongoing support service for all technical staff Assist as required in the provision of emergency services to maintain the Managing Agents responsibilities in the event of fire, flood or damage caused by inclement weather and equipment failure of similar emergencies outside working hours as may be required. Notwithstanding the detail of this job description, the job holder will undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be determined by the Commission Manager from time to time, to or at a level consistent with the principal duties and responsibilities of the job.
