Vacancy:Acceptance ReviewerStatus:PermanentSalary:GBP 27 - GBP 40,000Ref:650793Area:BerkshireDisciplineBusiness Services SafetyAcceptance Review is the companys process for independent in-house review of nuclear safety cases, which is required bythe Nuclear Installations Inspectorate (NII) for nuclear licensed sites.ResponsibilitiesTo follow the company process for Acceptance Review in a thorough and timely manner, as set out in the Acceptance ReviewProcess document, in discharging the roles of ART member and ARTL.QualificationsDegree (or equivalent) in engineering or natural science subjectTo be obtained subsequent to taking up the post:NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)Basic qualification (e.g. Certificate) in Environmental Legislation, Assessment and ManagementKnowledgeBroad knowledge across a range of science and engineering topics.ExperienceMinimum of 5 years practical experience in a high hazard industry.SkillsGood at investigation and analysis of informationNumerate and literateEffective at communicating key findings to management, both verbally and in reports/memos.Effective at working to time deadlinesWorking effectively with others towards common goalsBehavioursExpresses an independent opinionResilient to challenge, but capable of reaching a consensusRecognises impact of their decisions on othersKey accountabilitiesMembership of Acceptance Review teams for major new projects and high hazard facility submissionsLeadership of Acceptance Review Teams under the guidance of a Senior Acceptance Reviewer Team Leader (ARTL). Thisinvolves co-ordination of Acceptance Review Teams (ART), preparation of review reports, discussions with Facility/ProjectManagers and presentation at Directorate safety committees and the Nuclear Safety Committee. Project management ofcontractors is required, if there external ART members.(Note: As experience increases, this accountability will predominate over that of ART member.)Lead and participate in inspections of facilities as required under the Acceptance Review process.Checking of Acceptance Review reports on behalf of another ARTL.Advice to Facility/Project Managers and safety document authors on the expected contents and the approvals process forsafety documentation subject to review. |
